[edit] Biography

In 2000, Joe Ragosta, Steve Chirichella, and Josh Bolt formed the Ska band, Patent Pending. A year later, Steve and Josh left the band and were replaced by Michael Ragosta, Anthony Mingoia, and Drew Buffardi. The band began writing and playing local shows, adding Pat Cauchi on saxophone in 2002. The band gained a strong local following and would constantly headline shows at The Cavalry Church. Their local following was nicknamed "P-UNIT" by their saxophone player, Pat. Steve Chirichella left the band to go to college in 2002, and Pat Cauchi left to pursue his studies as well.

The band's music then shifted to a more pop punk style and began to tour the country with other Long Island bands like A Midnight Orchestra and We're All Broken. They sold thousands of CDs and DVDs and gained a large following on Myspace. They performed showcases for various labels and in 2005, they attracted the attention of We Put Out Records, a label in the East West family of labels (East West is a branch of the Warner Music Group). Later that year, the band went to Big Blue Meenie Studios in Hoboken, New Jersey to record their We Put Out Records debut, Save Each Other, the Whales Are Doing Fine. They were produced by Joseph A. Pedulla (Thursday, We.re All Broken) to guide them throughout the recording process. The CD was released on June 6th, 2006.

In 2006, the band participated in Warped Tour. In 2007, Marc Kantor began riding his bicycle from Levittown, New York to San Diego, California to raise money and awareness for The American Heart Association. A portion of the proceeds were also donated to the Rhiannon Chloe Foundation, a foundation started to help children in need with leukemia. He successfully completeled this on June 7th, 2007.
