Retro Ignite is a synth/electro pop driven Power Pop band from Long Island and Queens, New York. The band was formed in January 2008 from the ashes of the bands: The All-Starz, Meridian Drive, and Between You & Me.

Biography[]

The band, Retro Ignite first formed in the early months of 2008. Chris Castellino, whose Queens/Long Island based pop punk group, Meridian Drive had just dissolved started the new project with Phil Masi (formerly of The All-Starz). Chris then recruited his friend and former band-mate in Meridian Drive, Carlo David to play drums and Miles White (formerly of Between You & Me was added on bass. The band began writing material for their debut EP. When the time was right, they contacted Mike Watts of Vudu Studios (As Tall As Lions, The Almost, Self Against City, The Scenic, The Junior Varsity, 1997) as well as producer Mike Del Rio and musician Greg Wirbikis (The Crash Moderns) to produce and put out their five songs.

The band quickly grew a strong online fanbase and hit the road in the summer of 2008, touring up and down the East Coast to push their release, sharing the stage with bands like The Medic Droid, Hypercrush, Envy on the Coast, The Scenic, Chronic Future, The Crash Moderns, Breathe Electric, Kelsey and the Chaos, and Kids of Survival all the way.

The band recently put our their newest single, "Nightlife Royalty". The song was recorded with producer/engineer Kenny Gioia and the band is currently writing and demo'ing out new material. They are currently touring the United States with the band, Set It Off.
