Styrofoam Junkies was an Alternative Rock band from West Hempstead, New York and Madison, New Jersey. The band was formed under the moniker, "The Standoff" in October, 2006.

Biography[]

The Standoff was formed in October of 2006. The band recorded a demo with Tim Fasano of Two Dollar Productions and played in support of the demo in the New York City and Long Island area, as well as out of state shows in New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. In May, 2007, the band renamed themselves the "Styrofoam Junkies" and entered the Northshore Recording Studio with Ryan Sellick (Armor for Sleep, Bedlight for Blue Eyes, Jet Lag Gemini) to record their debut album, Guided by Speciner. The album was then mastered by Mike Fossenkemper (Madonna, Miles Davis, The Get Up Kids), and was released on August 12th, 2007. The band released it on their own Indie label, 24 West Records, physically, and Takeover Records, digitally.

In 2008, the band released a remix for their single, Touch, which features hip hop artists Brilyant Mindz.

The Styrofoam Junkies broke up in November of 2008, and Stephen Faig, Rich Nardo & Greg Lum were in Eagle & Prey. Eagle & Prey released their first demo in May of 2009 entitled Demo Lovato which they are giving away for free on any of their websites. Eagle & Prey broke up in 2010.
